Well, for my siblings and me, we did know what to expect. My dad would always play 3 country artists. I grew up in a small town in Maumelle, Arkansas and I can honestly say listening to these three country artists almost every day truly shaped sweet memories of my childhood.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Garth Brooks<br \/>\n<iframe title=\"Garth Brooks - The Thunder Rolls (With Lyrics And Pics)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tdsJI8Wc2D4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">I know what you\u2019re probably thinking\u2026 \u201cOf course, who didn\u2019t listen to him?\u201d, but you\u2019re right! To me, listening to Garth Brooks is a classic memory. Now, my dad and I tended to be a bit theatrical at times, so when it was just him and I in the car on the way to some event, we would always play \u201cWhen the Thunder Rolls\u201d. What a better song to play when you\u2019re planning on acting and being all dramatic, right? I mean, really, who can\u2019t resist to belt out and dance during the thunder parts of the song. The next most played Garth Brooks song was, of course, \u201cThe Dance\u201d. My dad knew this one a lot better than I did, but I enjoyed it just as much.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Dixie Chicks<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><iframe title=\"The Chicks - Goodbye Earl (Official Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Gw7gNf_9njs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Here we go, another wave of childhood memories come flooding back anytime I hear ANY of the Dixie Chicks songs. \u201cGood Bye Earl\u201d is still my jam until this day. While at the time, I only thought of it as a fun, upbeat song, I still bolt it out today knowing it is about domestic abuse. I think it\u2019s a song that catches people\u2019s attention and brings <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avclub.com\/article\/the-hits-keep-coming-30-songs-inspired-by-domestic-57741\">awareness to a serious issue.<\/a> \u201cReady to Run\u201d also deserves a huge honorable mention because my sisters and I use to act out that song all the time. While these are two of my favorites, every Dixie Chicks song that comes to mind has a unique place in my heart.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Shania Twain<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><iframe title=\"Shania Twain - Man! I Feel Like A Woman! (Official Music Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZJL4UGSbeFg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I saved good ole Shania for last because it\u2019s a personal favorite. Her songs bring back probably the sweetest memories I have. Mainly because my dad belted out her songs louder than anyone, and if you knew my dad, you\u2019d know why this was such a funny and entertaining site for me. \u201cThat Don\u2019t Impress Me Much\u201d and \u201cMan! I Feel like a Woman\u201d are easily my top two favorite songs by her. I mean, come on, can you imagine your father singing &#8220;let&#8217;s go girls&#8221; at the beginning of the song &#8220;Man! I Feel Like a Woman&#8221;\u00a0and that not bringing a smile to your face? I didn\u2019t think so.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.dwrl.utexas.edu\/countrymusic\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2015\/10\/63403_1612221839461_1793417_n.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5880 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.dwrl.utexas.edu\/countrymusic\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2015\/10\/63403_1612221839461_1793417_n-300x238.jpg\" alt=\"63403_1612221839461_1793417_n\" width=\"306\" height=\"242\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.dwrl.utexas.edu\/countrymusic\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2015\/10\/63403_1612221839461_1793417_n-300x238.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sites.dwrl.utexas.edu\/countrymusic\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2015\/10\/63403_1612221839461_1793417_n.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 306px) 100vw, 306px\" \/><\/a>No matter what I tell people about my childhood from Arkansas, no story is told without mention of at least one of these country singers.
