To start off the course, students investigated the deceptively simple genre of recipes, immersing themselves in the genre through extensive reading, then composing their own original text.
Recipes
Each student investigated a specific genre of food writing, defining the conventions that characterize a set of similar texts and the audiences to which these texts are directed. After this research they then composed an original piece of writing in that genre, joining in the conversation. We hope you enjoy their pieces!
