In Sheyla’s advertisement there are pictures of the interior parts of the car. There are also pictures of an opera and two people in a specific dance poster. At the top of the adversitsemnt it states “enjoy the lifetime of a performance”. It seems all of these pictures relate to entarienment.

In Sheyla’s advertisement there are pictures of the interior parts of the car. There are also pictures of an opera and two people in a specific dance poster. At the top of the advertisement it states “enjoy the lifetime of a performance”. It seems all of these pictures relate to entertainment.
Further this text is appealing to people that enjoy opera or some sort of music entertainment. The interior of the car focuses on the radio and a cup holder.
The opera house is the biggest picture in the advertisement. This signifies the importance the opera house has on the advertisement. This advertisement portrays a classy theme because the ad also states the “luxury of your new 2016 volvo XC90.”
Ultimately this image displays that buying this car would be a luxury. The pictures of the opera house, the wine glass, and the dance postures all signify the aristocratic value this car provides. If one wants a distinct image from society, then this car would be the solution.

  3. Shayla: I enjoyed seeing how you tried to “reach” an admittedly difficult audience (people who watch the ballet). Like Kamran, I think using the word “luxury” would appeal. I also think that the ad gives the audience the impression that they can enjoy the same music (and luxury) in their car that they enjoy at the actual ballet.

Kamran: I’m glad you could tell I was trying to make the car seem like a luxury. Since I had to appeal to an audience of people that enjoying going out to see ballet, I immediately thought of luxury. It cost a certain amount of money to go see a ballet on the regular, therefore I wanted to make the car seem just as high class as they may be. (ps: I love how you spelled my name wrong, even though it was right there.. just saying. haha but its okay, I had to make sure I spelled your name right plenty of times)
Dustin: I’m glad you noticed I tried to incorporate things that people would enjoy in their car just as going out to see a ballet. These things included music from their stereo and the fact that there’s a wine class holder. Just might even be better than going out to a play!

  5. People who go out to ballets typically are middle to upper class because they enjoy older pastimes. With money comes luxury and that’s what the Volvo brand represents. I believe you executed this advertisement quite well and those people will take comfort in knowing they are purchasing a high class vehicle.
