Relaxing by Gasson (Rachel’s playlist)
Let’s be real, it’s very hard to go straight into homework mode after several consecutive morning classes. That’s why I decided to make this playlist. It’s the perfect unwinding playlist that allows you to listen, relax, and most important, appear studios amongst other imposters who are doing the exact same thing. I previously had a playlist that contained 50+ songs but I figured, no one has enough time to go through all of someone else’s songs, so I’ve narrowed it down to my favorite 18 tracks.
Come on, you can’t go wrong with Elton John to relax so of course the first two songs are by him!
(“Tiny Dancer”, “Rocket Man”)
Next up is “Say” by John Mayer: I love this song because it reminds you not to hold things in and just “say what you need to say” (sorry to point out the obvious).
“Somewhere Only We Know” might be my absolute favorite… mostly because it was the song for the Winnie the pooh movie which just makes me feel like such a child again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BShTnZm9X_4
“I’d Rather Be With You” by Joshua Radin, is another song that doesn’t need explaining it just is relaxing.
John Mayer’s song “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” is so slow that you can’t help but unwind.
“Breathe” by Taylor Swift is a key song because it reminds us all to breathe even if that’s not what the lyrics are about haha.
Considering Maroon 5 was a highly favored band within our class, I had to include “She Will Be Loved.”
“Come on get higher” lightens my mood every time I listen to it, so of course I included it.
I know there are some bieber fans out there still, I personally am not, however I do like one of his less popular songs “Be Alright” because it also is a distressing song when you feel like things are falling apart.
“Collide” by Howie Day all you need to hear is the “do do do do do” and no other lyrics, don’t get me wrong I love the lyrics too.
“Bubbly” by Colbie Caillat is another one of my favorites, it never ceases to make me smile.
Finally, I end with “Home” by Daughtry, the chorus in this song is too catchy for me to leave it out of my selective playlist. As it is about going home it seems to fit as the final song of the playlist.
With all that being said, I hope you enjoy listening to it! -RR
