SEMESTER-LONG MEDIA EXPECTATION CHECKLIST

  • Read and engage with our social media production, as a new text being created by our class.
  • Write your SHORT “Curator” bio within the first week– have fun with it!
  • Complete your blog requirements (3 blogs and at least 10 comments to student-generated comment, whether that’s on the blog, Instagram, or Twitter).
  • All students are required to add the class accounts to their phone, and regularly check. (If you are pathologically against having apps on your phone, I see your ironic class choice and raise my eyebrow, but I’m accepting. Talk to me about getting the passwords / information for the class accounts. Remember, this is another way of participating in the course. Failure to engage with this project will negatively effect your LR assessment.
  • During an average, non-curator week (see below, for major assignment), students should still aim to engage with the work being done that week. In keeping with our Learning Record goals, students are asked to comment, retweet, favorite, and relate to each other’s interests as a sign of collaboration. Expectation is 1-2 engagements a week; keep track for your Learning Record Portfolio!
  • Each week will be assigned to two curators, who will be responsible for selecting and organizing the most important content to show to the class that week.
