I like getting to know new people. I have the opportunity to learn about someone’s personality and also reveal who I am. I feel that Social Medias give brief summaries of people’s personalities based on the content of their posts. I honestly thought being the class curator was fun, as I had the chance to show my classmates who I am.
It always takes me a while to post things. Usually, I try not to post every day and instead capture those special moments that I can share with the world. My main Social Media accounts are Instagram and Snapchat, although I use Vine a lot but only have a few videos of myself. I like how Twitter works, but do not have an account.
I enjoy making videos to capture special or interesting moments. This explains why I waited until Sunday to update the class Instagram and Twitter. I went out to see my cousins in Tewkesbury, Massachusetts. Before going to their house, I had to stop by Harvard Avenue to get a haircut. I uploaded a video of the view I had right when I got off the B-Line. After the barbershop, I got on the B-Line to go to Park street station, then I got on the C-Line and got off at North Station. Then, I took the purple line and got off Bardarville station. I have a video of me standing next to an incoming train that honked its horn at me. It was really fun. It was nice to finally get out of the BC bubble and go into the outside world.
I like to be adventurous; going out to new places and getting to know new people and taking risks (which explain why I, a kid from Maryland, chose to come all the way to Boston). I also enjoy making people laugh; it gives me great pleasure to make someone’s day with a funny picture or video. I also enjoy spending time with my family; I uploaded a picture of my cousins and me, their English bulldog Lala, and my aunt’s delicious Salvadoran cooking. It felt great to finally be in a home with family.
I had a great Sunday with my family, but then I came back to school Monday morning realizing I still had to update the class Twitter. Knowing that we had a lot to read and papers on rhetoric to work on, I decided not to bombard people with more readings about rhetoric and instead showed three monologues from three of my favorite movies. I also updated one video of a really cool dance scene from Pulp Fiction, another one of my favorite movies.
I really enjoyed taking the time to give you all a brief visualization of who I am and what I enjoy doing on my spare time. I am honestly eager to see what the rest of you have to show!
