I must admit, social media week was fun. It was really exciting when I got the groove of things, but in all honesty, I was stressed out in the beginning. Social media is not really something that I keep up with all the time compared to my peers so this week was a bit different and interesting for me. When Ms. Barta sent me the email with all the passwords and usernames, I was a bit overwhelmed because I did not know what to post. Immediately, I started to contemplate on what I was going to say on each social media website. It even got so bad that I wanted to have a theme- yes, I am going to admit that I am a bit of an organizational freak. However, as the week progressed things got easier because I thought about social media week more as a fun activity rather than a difficult assignment.
Out of all of the different things that we had to do during media week, I enjoyed making my own Spotify playlist the most. Music has always been a big part of my life, so it was nice to share the songs that interest me with my fellow classmates and teacher. On the flip side, what I enjoyed doing the least was creating postings on twitter. I was never really a fan of twitter in the first place and having to interact with it for an entire week didn’t really seem as fun to me as the other things were. As for Instagram, that was another thing that I liked a lot because it was nice to create a story with pictures. It made me think fast on my feet and I was really excited to share certain pictures with the class. Last but not least, Tumblr. Taking time to reflect on my social media week was well needed because it opened my eyes on the things that I liked doing the most.
This kind of assignment should continue because it was definitely a pleasurable one. Also, I got the chance to learn a little bit more of each of my classmates based on the things that they posted during their social media week. I would actually miss this assignment and I hope that I could get to do something similar to this one in the future.
