Two weeks ago, right after the Texas OU game, I had the busiest school week of my semester. I had two presentations in Integrated Communication Management class, an astronomy test, and a paper due. It’s funny how there always seems to be one week in your semester that is just overloaded with schoolwork. Having Texas OU the weekend before this “hell” week didn’t help. With little sleep I was able to My fraternity had our parents weekend starting Friday, and despite my parents not being able to come to Austin, I was looking forward to the festivities and seeing my friends parents. Friday night we had a casino night with a ton of blackjack, roulette, Texas hold’em, and craps tables. All of the chips you won were counted as tickets towards a raffle for a shotgun, an Xbox One, a hunting jacket, and a Yeti cooler. Sadly I didn’t win but it was still a great night, and greatly needed after the week I had in school. For game day on Saturday, we had a tailgate with all of the parents which is always a great time with catered food, a bar, and college football on the TVs. 3o minutes before the Texas kickoff we made our ways to DKR stadium. A friend of mine was actually giving away free touchdown club tickets so one of my best friends and I were able to sit in the club and revive more free drinks and food. To be honest the seats were so far from the football field that it was hard to follow the game but having the opportunity to sit in club seats was too good to pass up. Despite the hard week it was great to see my friends parents and have once again a great parents weekend.

I know exactly what you mean when you say that there’s always that one week where everything seems to happen. I actually had the same experience this past weekend. My best friend in US came down to Houston this past weekend and my best friend from Nigeria also decided to come to US for the first time, specifically Dallas, this same weekend. Even better my sister was due to have her baby this past weekend. It didn’t help that I had an exam this Monday morning. But it really is interesting how that works. I hope you made it through okay though and had fun at the weekend though! It sounds great.
I can relate to your busy week. I am experiencing the same thing this week with two tests, a paper, and five observation hours. It can all seem so overwhelming, but once you get it done, it is the biggest relief. Parents weekend is always a great weekend even though your parents were not able to come. It is nice to see all of your friends and their families and get treated with dinner or in your case football tickets! My parents weekend is during tech vs texas game which is a little disappointing because all my friends go to tech! However, we have a big auction Friday night similar to the casino night you had. I am glad you were able to celebrate your stressful being over this weekend!
There totally is at least one week every semester thats just a total “hell week” with an overload of schoolwork. That week for me is next week and I’m already dreading it. But I’m glad you got through it and had a good weekend with all your friends and their parents! My sorority’s parents weekend was last weekend also there were also a bunch of fun activities planned for all of us and our parents. It was a lot of fun and I was really excited to take my parents to the football game. The club seats sounded like a really cool place to spend the game!
I know exactly the week you’re having, but that’s crazy to have it right after OU! This seems to be the first year where I haven’t had a hell week, but I am just consistently busy. It’s weird to miss hell weeks, but I would honestly love to have a hell week and then two dead weeks before my next due date. To each his own. Grass is always greener. Whatever floats your boat.
That sounds like a really tough week! I am dreading the thought that one of those weeks is coming up for me soon. The class Integrated Communication Management sounds like something I will most likely have to take in the near future since I’m a PR major. That’s nice you were able to have some fun down time after such a stressful week. I always appreciate free time even more after being consistently busy. Also, it’s so neat that you got club seats for the game! Watching in luxury defiantly sounds like a good break from the humidity outside.
I can totally relate to your week from hell. Every week (besides last week) since the third week of school I’ve had over two tests, two papers, a quiz, and some sort of presentation/project. On top of that balancing a healthy lifestyle AND trying to get enough sleep is simply just not easy whatsoeva. We college students don’t get enough credit, amirite?? Also, sitting in club seats sounds rad! Hope I get to experience that opportunity sometime!
Good thing you got through that week strong. I hope there aren’t any more compacted weeks like those. With that said, I hope you enjoyed the club seating for the game. I really want to try it out some day. I know that they serve great food as well great seats for the game.
This sounds really fun. It’s awesome that you got to sit in the club! I think most of us have the unfortunate luck of having a busy week before a big event of some sort, it really sucks. However, its good that you got to have some fun during this busy week.
