Although this past week was a busy one, I was looking forward to going home at the end of the week. Before I could leave, I had to visit the writing center, meet with my advisor, complete assignments for this course and statistics, and take a very tough exam on Thursday. I was a little overwhelmed with all the things I had to do, but the thought of going back home motivated me to get everything done.
After a not-so-smooth exam, I was on my way to San Antonio for the first time in over a month. I was excited to see my parents, brother, and two dogs. I was especially looking forward to Saturday. My brother and I bought tickets to the Mala Luna Music Festival and couldn’t wait to see Travis Scott, who was headlining on Saturday night. This was a pretty big deal for the kids who are from San Antonio. Not many big name performers come through our city and we had never hosted a music festival of this caliber before. Some of the performers included: Travis Scott, Steve Aoki, Lil Uzi Vert, and Lil Yachty. Additionally, this was my brother’s first concert, which made the experience really special. My close friends Josh and Miguel also attended the festival with us. After fighting our way to the front of the crowd it was time to wait for Travis Scott, who would perform from 9:45pm-10:45pm. His performance was great, even crazier than I expected! I posted a picture on the course Instagram account if you would like to see it.
With all of the events going on this weekend, the media accounts were really useful to me as a curator. I was able to post pictures of the music festival and my dogs, tweet about the football game, as well as post the link to my spotify playlist. Overall I’d say this was a good week. I got to see my family and friends, enjoy a music festival with my younger brother, and watch the Longhorns beat Baylor! Hook Em.
Wow. That’s so awesome that you were able to see Travis Scott! After reading this, I definitely miss home immensely. I’ll be visiting on November 8th, but it’s for an interview so I don’t think I’ll be able to spend much time. Overall, I’m glad you were able to go back home and recharge.
Sounds like your week started out stressful but ended up being a really good and memorable week, and was definitely full of content to post as this week’s media curator. The music festival sounded really cool and I can’t imagine how nice it must have been to go home and spend time with your family. I’m from New York so I don’t go home often and haven’t been since August. I’m definitely looking forward to Thanksgiving break!
