After powering through most of my last fall semester, I feel confident in saying that I learned a great deal in this class. However, though I learned a lot about writing and rhetoric techniques, I learned a lot about myself in the process. I was a little resistant when the first short writing assignment was introduced because it seemed strange—analyzing someone else’s short narrative, but I found myself enjoying the first paper more and more once I started writing it. This was the first class that not only challenged, but encouraged me to write something remotely personal, and I found myself actually wanting to revise my papers to strengthen the arguments. This class was definitely one of those classes where what you get out of it depends on the effort you put in…So I would recommend putting in as much as possible, because this class and especially Ms. Barta have a lot of good things to teach us.
