Hey guys! My name is Bill Dang and I was the media curator for the week. As one of the first curators, I was not quite sure what everyone wanted to see. I volunteered as one of the first curators because I wanted to share some of the cool events happening around campus!
For some students, the first few weeks of school can be hectic and confusing. As a fourth-year senior, I should be a master at surviving the first week of school. For those who did not know, Party on The Plaza occurred last Wednesday. It’s THE biggest event on campus for FREE goodies. Giveaways include T-shirts, cups, pens, food, etc. I hope students saw my tweet in time to collect all of the freebies given away that day!
Another thing I’m really excited about this year is TEXAS FOOTBALL! I played all four years in high school. As a matter of fact, two of the guys on my team are now starting defensive backs for the Texas Longhorns! Last year, our defense was young yet they still received numerous compliments from analysts. This year, they are returning stronger than ever. The addition of freshman QB Shae Buechele is expected to electrify to offense. He was ranked as the nation’s #4 dual-threat QB. I was surprised that he chose Texas, but thankful nonetheless.
My experience as curator this week has actually been quite pleasant. Whenever I heard about something cool happening on campus, my first thought was to tweet about it! I hope that future curators will tweet about exciting events on campus. This will be my last semester at the wonderful Forty Acres since my plan is to graduate at the end of Fall. While I can’t help but think about all of the missed opportunities, potential friendships and outrageous adventures, my experiences at UT have been priceless.
